New Year's Eve
Probably the biggest party night of the year is New Year's Eve and planning the outfit becomes half the fun! This year I'm thinking of doing something a little different, spice it up. Generally I go with a little black dress and statement necklace and that's it, but let's see what I can pull together this year!

That California Style
So I'm on a plane to Cali and couldn't be more excited! This cold dark weather is getting me down so I'm ready for something new and the holidays are coming up which is so exciting!!! Can't wait to put together my outfits for them!
But for this warm weather style I'm putting together a few of my favorite pieces for the California sun. This isn't an outfit but I'm sure you guys are savvy enough to pull something together :)

Travel in Style
The airport and whole transit process in general can be super stressful and style isn't your first priority but that doesn't mean you suddenly have to look like a slob.
Here are some of my travel essentials for comfort while keeping it cute!
The headphones are comfortable enough for long flights because they go over your ear and I'm loving the navy green. I paired that with a navy (ish) green coat because planes can get chilly. I always take a beanie because when the hair goes down hill it's a great thing to throw on. And of course, a camera because traveling is so much fun and should be documented.

Sunglasses in the Snow
In the midst of planning my trip to Cali I have rediscovered my love for sunglasses. I mean this never really went away but sunglasses are put on the back burner during the winter, which doesn't even make sense to me because sometimes that snow can be awful bright!
I chose three different pairs. Both the Urban and Forever 21 pair are "functional"so that they actually block out a decent amount of light while the J Crew pair are kind of steep price wise but are super cute to complete an outfit.

The Cold equals Peacoats
As the weather starts to drop all that's been on my mind is coats! And rightfully so, it's freezing. I hate to compromise my love for style and color with this, so I chose to bring out some cute peacoats. Often made of wool, or some other warm material, I choose a bright color to stick out in the snowy gloomy days.
Currently, I'm loving the J-Crew and Calvin Klein peacoats but since they can be a bit pricey I searched around for a more affordable version. I found a plaid peacoat by Forever 21 which cuts the price without sacrificing the style.

The Color Red
In the winter and especially around the holidays I become slightly obsessed with red and my outfits definitely show it. This "bold" color is a quick go to make you stand out in the dull and gloomy days. The lace dress is a classic and an automatic go to in my closet so I chose a long sleeved crew neck dress to maximize warmth with a cut out in the back to add a little flirt to it.
If you don't need to put on a dress shoes can be a great alternative. Unlike shirts they will be seen while you're walking around, even with a coat on, and can allow you to resort to a simple outfit.
Pair all of this red with a nude/bare nail color. Easy, classy and doesn't take the attention away from the brilliant red. My current favorite is allure by Essie but nude colors depend on your skin tone so check out their site to find the right color for you!

Turkey Day
Thanksgiving is one of those holidays where you want to look stunning without going too crazy because it is only family that you have to impress. This high wasted mid-length skirt and simple lace paneled blouse creates great black and white contrast. The skirt allows for mobility when running after little cousins and the simplicity of two pieces requires little packing room and convenience when getting ready.
